Board of State Canvassers Approves Form of Marijuana, Prevailing Wage Petitions

We have a major update on a group’s efforts to legalize recreational marijuana in Michigan.

Groups that want to legalize recreational use and repeal a law that requires union-level wages on state-financed building projects can start collecting voter signatures.

The Board of State Canvassers approved the form of the petitions Thursday.

The next step is to collect 252,000 valid voter signatures needed to put the bills before the Republican-led Legislature and potentially voters.
