Federal Judge Rules Michigan’s Recount Can Begin At Noon Monday

Continuing to make her case, Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein is pushing for a recount of presidential votes in some states.

In Michigan, a federal judge has ruled that the recount of presidential results can begin at noon on Monday.

Late Sunday night, Detroit Judge Mark Goldsmith, issued a ruling that rejected an effort to wait two business days to begin the recount.

His decision gives the state more time to hand-count nearly 5 million ballots ahead of the December 13 deadline,

President-elect Donald Trump sued elections officials to stop the recount but Stein's lawyers argued that waiting until Wednesday would cut it too close to the deadline to have it finished.

Republican Attorney General Bill Schuette, asked the state Supreme Court to intervene and stop the recount on Friday.

The Green Party also wants recounts in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
