Cadillac Candlelight Vigil to Honor Local Domestic Violence Victims and Survivors

Posted: Updated:

An event Wednesday night will honor victims and survivors of domestic violence.

It will be inside the Oasis Family Resource Center's building in Downtown Cadillac.

The hour-long vigil will consist of lighting candles to honor people who've suffered and survived domestic violence and sexual assault.

The event aims to raise awareness.

Last year's event was packed with people ready to lend their support.

“We will be honoring two victims who took their lives this year,” Oasis Family Resource Center Legal Advocate Shawna Shelton said. “We will also be having live performance and a time for the community to come together and rally around domestic violence.”

The event is from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday night.
