HS Football Two-a-days preview: Cedarville & Sault Ste. Marie

Posted: Updated:
Only 11 mores days until the high school football season opens and both Cedarville and Sault Ste. Marie are looking to top successful 2013 campaigns.

In Trojan land, the squad is coming off its ninth straight winning season, a tradition that will hopefully continue with Mike Bailey and Joey Duncan leading the way. As Cedarville looks to make up for its two-point loss to Engadine in the playoffs last season.

“We'll probably stick to our game plan, but with a team that is obviously full of seniors, we'll probably open it up just a touch more, you know it's a spread offense. . . but we're going to stick to the basics,” said Scott Barr, Cedarville's Head Coach.

Directly North, the Blue Devils are all too familiar with change, after graduating their quarterback. However Sault Ste. Marie's Head Coach Scott Menard said this development period will only make his squad stronger in the end.

“We're very young . . . so if we can find a way to maybe get through the nerves and some of the inexperience early on then we will be fine,” Menard said.

The Blue Devils will start their season hosting Petoskey on August 29th.
