Deadline for Antlerless Deer Applications is Almost Here

Posted: Updated:

The deadline for hunters to apply for an antlerless deer license is this Friday, August 15.

Hunters may apply for one license for a $5 fee. Drawing results and leftover licenses will be available on September 4. You can find those results here

Any licenses not issued in the drawing will be sold on a first come first serve basis starting September 11th at 10:00 a.m.

Young hunters ages nine through 16 don't need an application for a junior license, but hunters who are nine must be 10 year old by September 15 to purchase a license.

The deer quotas are down from about 550,000 in 2013 to about 494,000 across the state this year.

Hunting antlerless deer in some areas in the Upper Peninsula is prohibited after the loss of the deer herd due to the severe winter.

You can find a list of licenses available here. Purchase your license online here or find a DNR Customer Service Center here

Hunters, don't forget to apply for the Pure Michigan Hunt for $5 as many times as you want. Three winners will get a prize package valued over $4,000 and includes a rifle, crossbow and licenses for elk, bear, and antlerless deer. Get more information here
