Young Girl Discovers Blade Inside Snow Cone - Northern Michigan's News Leader

Young Girl Discovers Blade Inside Snow Cone

Posted: Updated:

A day of fun at the fair turned into a day of fear after a 10-year-old girl found a razor blade in the bottom of her snow cone.

A family outing to the Northwestern Michigan Fair near Traverse City last week took a turn when the blade turned up in the girl's snow cone.

Police are investigating and the family is looking for answers.

The Northwestern Michigan Fair draws thousands of people every year.

While it's unclear how the blade wound up in just one snow cone, it still means the same thing: one little girl's treat had a dangerous object in it and her family wants to know how it got there last Thursday.

The sheriff's office says staff of the Arnold's Amusements booth are cooperating with police to get to the bottom of this.

No charges from the family are being sought at this time and the girl did not get hurt seeing as she found it right on time.

9&10's Cody Boyer and photojournalist Melvin Kimsbrough spoke with the girl's mother today to bring you more details.
