Melvin Kimbrough - Northern Michigan's News Leader

Melvin Kimbrough

Posted: Updated:

I began working at Northern Michigan's News Leader in late June.

I graduated from Specs Howard School of Media Arts in November 2011 with a concentration in Video and Film. I received the “Outstanding Technical Achievement Award” at graduation.

Before coming to Northern Michigan, I worked as a Master Control Operator at The Word Network from 2011 through 2013. Following that, I worked as a part time Production Technician at Detroit Public Television from 2013-2014.

Being a photojournalist is what I've been wanting to do for a very long time. I’m honored to finally have the opportunity to do so.

Although Northern Michigan is very different from my hometown of Inkster near Detroit, I’m learning to love it.
