Chippewa County International Airport Finishes Resurfacing Project

Posted: Updated:
The Chippewa County International Airport welcomed passengers back today after a big project.

The airport in Kincheloe spent $3.5 million dollars to resurface the runways.

The airport belonged to the military years ago and it was time for an upgrade.

"We've had the benefit of using the concrete and runway the military left that was built in fifties and it was wearing out," said airport manager, Tami Beseau.

They were excited to get their first plane on the new runway today.

The airport used local workers for the project.
