Film Festival Celebrates 10th Anniversary

Posted: Updated:

With one festival under Traverse City's belt, another one is already looking forward to getting underway.

The Traverse City Film Festival started selling tickets to festival members to celebrate the event's 10th anniversary.

The festival brings films from all over the world and also features screenings of films from other local events.

Already, festival staff are expecting crowds of around 1,500 people a night once the festival begins.

"We're excited for big crowds," said Susan Fisher, business manager for the festival. "We like to have lots of people down there to help the community out. We invite everyone in to see free movies so we're really excited. Normally, some really big person shows up and sometimes surprises us even."

There are currently 3,000 Friends of the Film Festival.
