NHTSA Investigating Ford Vehicles with Steering Issues

Posted: Updated:

The government is investigating steering issues in about 500,000 Ford vehicles.

The investigation covers 2004 to 2007 Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis and Marauders.

A heat shield in the car can rust, dislodge and cause the steering shaft to jam.

In one of the 5 cases reported, the steering froze as a driver entered a high entrance ramp, causing the car to roll.

Ford says it will cooperate in the investigation.
