Police arrested a homeless man for sex crimes with a 14-year-old girl.

Kim Thomas had been living with a family in Clare County's Freeman Township on and off for 10 years.

The family demanded Thomas leave when they found out he had been having sex with their daughter.

Police say it happened several times while he stayed at the girl's home periodically over 10-years.

Once her parents found out, they told him to leave.

"Extremely important to know who you are allowing into your house. Now days there's a ton of sexual predator's out there and you really need to make sure you do know these people," said Randy Jordan of the Michigan State Police.

Police found Thomas walking down M-115 and arrested him.  He was taken to Clare County Jail on a $500,000 bond.

Thomas is charged with first degree criminal sexual conduct.
