UPDATE: Gov. Snyder Asking Detroit Pensioners to Support City Restructure Plan

Governor Snyder is urging Detroit pensioners to vote in favor of a restructuring plan for the city.

Snyder said today, if they vote no, "they're much worse off financially."

He made the comment before signing the bill that would give the city $195 million in state assistance.

The bill is being called the "Grand Bargain." The money is expected to save the cities art and help avoid more cuts for retiree pensions.

Retirees have until July 11 to vote. Michigan lawmakers already gave their final approval
