BACN Summer Donation Match Campaign

Posted: Updated:

A local group is lighting a spark to raise money to help people in need in Northern Michigan.

The Benzie Area Christian Neighbors held an event tonight in Benzonia featuring a Big Match.

It brings attention to their summer donation matching program.

All donations made through August up to $45,000 will be matched dollar for dollar.

The money will go towards food, clothing, utility and job search assistance.

"The generosity of people is just outstanding and it's really remarkable thing to see this kind of campaign get this kind of support in such a small community, " said David Abeel, Director of Development at BACN.

The BACN has been around for 30 years.
