Loyd Dejohn Accused of Assault, Found Body Still to be Identified

Posted: Updated:

Macomb County prosecutors have filed assault charges against Loyd Dejohn, the husband of the woman whose body was believed to have been found in northern Michigan.

An autopsy is being performed on the remains today, but police believe it is Kimberly Dejohn's body.

Kimberly went missing more than a month ago following a fight with Loyd at their home in Warren.

Wednesday afternoon, cadaver dogs picked up her scent near an abandoned home in Afton in Cheboygan County. A short time later, investigators found a body.

Loyd Dejohn has been in jail since May 30 for domestic violence. He entered a not guilty plea to the assault charges in court today.

Police say the man admitted to getting into a fight with Kimberly, and she hit her head.

Blood was found in the couple's home.

Family members from both sides sat with each other in court Thursday.
