The Wex Hosts Annual Senior Expo - Northern Michigan's News Leader

The Wex Hosts Annual Senior Expo

Posted: Updated:

The Annual Senior Expo was back at the Wexford Civic Arena today with more than 65 vendors trying to cater to any need of the senior citizens on hand for this event.

The vendors always include senior service organizations, healthcare services and health screenings. In addition, Mercy Hospital and its services to seniors took up the entire north wall of the Wex.

With music, games and giveaways, this was as much a social event as anything else.

"I think what's important for seniors to do is to get here, to socialize, to visit, to stop at the booths, so it's not only educational, but it's an awesome day out. It's a place to reconnect with friends, make new friends, and you know, just enjoy the day out," explained Diane Patterson of the Wexford County Council on Aging

Governmental agencies were also represented as well as a local state Senator and Representative.
