Environmentalists Concerned About Microbeads Polluting Great Lakes

Manufacturers and environmentalists are trying to find common ground in a fight over microbeads.

The tiny pieces of plastic are polluting the Great Lakes and being ingested by fish.

Illinois recently voted to phase out the items used in many soaps, cosmetics, and in toothpaste.

While disagreements remain in other states, many manufacturers say they are willing to phase out the microbeads, and will use more natural abrasives instead.
