Police Investigate Deadly Cheboygan County House Fire

Fire crews responded to a house fire in Tower early Sunday morning. 

Police say one resident, Shane Sach's, died in the fire. One other person was in the home at the time of the fire, the family says it was Sach's girlfriend.

Fire crews say the couple was asleep when the fire broke out. The woman in the home was able to make it out of the house to call 911 from a neighbor's. While doing this, she suffered from many serious burns and lung inhalation.

Shane Sach's died in the home.

The woman was taken to McLaren in Petoskey, where she was in the Intensive Care Unit. She is being treated for serious burns.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
