Mt. Pleasant baseball gets redemption in quarters

Posted: Updated:
Mt. Pleasant baseball erased the memory of a late-inning collapse against Chippewa Hills in last year's quarterfinals on Tuesday with a 5-0 win over Gladwin, clinching a berth in the semis for the first time since 2011.

The Oilers (30-8-1) will now face Gull Lake in the Division 2 Semifinals on Thursday at McLane Stadium in East Lansing.  It's the first time the MHSAA has held the baseball and softball championships on the campus of Michigan State after spending the previous 24 years in Battle Creek.

Mt. Pleasant and Gull Lake will begin at 2:30 p.m.  Stay with us throughout the day for updates from the ballpark including a live report on Thursday's edition of 9&10 News at 6 and Fox 32 News at 7.
