State Volunteer Accused Of Multiple Sex Crimes

Posted: Updated:

An update on a story we first told you about in February.

A state volunteer is now charged with sex crimes.

Wayne Williams was a volunteer for Department of Human Services in Roscommon County.

State Police say Williams assaulted the victim while he was on the job, and that Williams had a clean background, giving DHS no reason to be concerned about him. Williams was in charge of driving people to and from appointments and victims say that's where he crossed the line, forcing them into sexual situations. Once one person spoke up, more felt the need to do so as well.

Police say even though they could only come up with one case to prosecute, they believe there are more still out there and need their help to bring more charges against Williams. If you think you or someone you know could be a victim, contact the Michigan State Police Houghton Lake Post at 989-422-5101.
