UPDATE: A Hart Man Dies From Injuries Sustained During A Brush Fire

After investigating, police say Roger Kludy from Hart was not able to get away from the fast moving fire that started in his backyard.

Police say the fire quickly spread across the grass.

Kludy uses a prosthetic leg and could not get away from the fire fast enough.

A neighbor pulled him from the fire, but he later died at a Grand Rapids hospital.

A Hart man badly burned by a brush fire in Oceana County died from his injuries.

Authorities say Roger Kludy was burning brush on Monday when something went wrong, leaving him with severe burns. Kludy was taken to a Grand Rapids hospital where he later died.

The incident remains under investigation.
