Girl Scouts Host Packaging Party to Send Cookies to Troops

Posted: Updated:

People across America look forward to girl scouts at their front door each year.

And this year, the scouts are sending their cookies to those who are a little tougher to get to.

The Traverse City girl scout troop #10037 partnered up with Operation American Soldier, Disabled American Veterans and several other groups to send thousands of boxes of cookies to troops overseas.

The project is the brainchild of a 15-year-old Sr. girl scout, Meredith Allen and her family. She says her family is active in helping veterans, and she wanted to do something great for the troops on behalf of the girl scouts.

Today Veterans, National Guard, and many people from the community helped pack these cookies to send to the troops.
