EAST LANSING - Northern Michigan sent four boys basketball teams to the State Semifinals in East Lansing.  However they went 0-for-4 at the Breslin Center this week.  Mt. Pleasant lost to top-ranked Muskegon 63-47.  Cadillac lost to Benton Harbor 69-52.

Mount Pleasant held "Mr. Basketball" Deshaun Thrower to 9 points in their Class A State Semifinal Friday.

However, all of the other starters for Muskegon reached double-digits in the rout of the Oilers.

Jaleel Hogan led the way for Mount Pleasant with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

The Oilers led the game early with a 6-2 run at the start.

Muskegon finished the 1st Quarter with a 16-3 run to take an 18-9 lead at the break.

The Oilers had one more run in them in the 4th Quarter.  Mt. Pleasant pulled within 9 points, 52-43, with 4:10 left in the game.  However, the Oilers would not get any closer.

Mt. Pleasant finishes the season with a 22-5 record.

Cadillac hung with the Tigers early, Evan Ferrito hit a triple to tie it up at 9 in the 1st Quarter.

However, it was almost all Benton Harbor after that.  The Tigers led 17-11 after one quarter of play.  Benton Harbor led 37-20 at Halftime and then 58-32 after three quarters of play.

Cadillac finished one victory shy of a fourth-straight 20 win season.  Jalen Brooks finished his hoops career with 30 points and 6 rebounds.

However the Vikings graduate only three seniors so they should return a lot of their talent for another run next season.
