Malaysia Airlines Flight Detected Hundreds Of Miles From Flight Plan

Posted: Updated:

New information has surfaced into the search for a missing Malaysia Airlines flight that has disappeared.

Flight 370 was last detected flying over a small island hundreds of miles from the flights planned route.

The plane was headed to Beijing on Saturday but never made it.

The new information leads Malaysian officials to believe the plane was flying in the opposite direction it was supposed to be heading.

Radar shows the plane made it to the Malacca Straits, but not a single trace of the plane has been found, including the 239 passengers.

The search has been expanded to include an area opposite the flight plan.

Commander of the US 7th Fleet William Marks says, "time is not on our side if there is anything we can do to expand this search will be the better, if there are any survivors."

The US has two Navy ships, a Navy plane and helicopters helping with the search effort.

Crews are using sophisticated surface radar and the Chinese military has redirected ten of its satellites.
