Ferris Hockey wins WCHA regular season title outright

Posted: Updated:

It only took one season in the WCHA for Ferris State to get comfortable.

The Bulldogs won the WCHA regular season title outright with a 2-1 win over Lake Superior State, and a Minnesota State 1-1 tie against Michigan Tech Saturday night.

It is the second conference title for Ferris State in the last three seasons.  The Bulldogs won the CCHA regular season championship in 2012.

Ferris State will host a First-Round WCHA Tournament series as the top seed next weekend.  It's a best-of-three matchup that starts Friday night at 7:07pm in Ewigleben Ice Arena.
