Two Men Admit To Poaching UP Cougar

MANISTIQUE, Mich. (AP) -- Two men charged with poaching a cougar in the UP now admit to the crime.

They pleaded guilty Wednesday to taking or having an endangered species at a hunting camp in Schoolcraft County.

Troy Richard also admitted to conspiring to commit a crime.

He was sentenced to 30 days in jail, plus fines and community service.

Theodore Richard was also fined and ordered to community service.

Both men are from Bay County.


A third man, Todd Richard of Saginaw County, pleaded not guilty to conspiracy in the case.
