MT. PLEASANT -- Katie Johns, the six-year-old brain cancer patient who was adopted by the CMU women's basketball team last season, has been given a clean bill of health.

Johns had been fighting Pilacytic astrocytoma since July of 2012, but after 19 months of chemotherapy and extensive high-risk surgery, she attended her first CMU game last night cancer-free.

Her treatmens have been taking place at C.S. Mott in Ann Arbor.  Her story continues to be an inspiration to head coach Sue Guevara and the CMU women's basketball team.
