Osceola County Barn Destroyed by Evening Fire - Northern Michigan's News Leader

Osceola County Barn Destroyed by Evening Fire

Posted: Updated:

Fire destroyed a century old barn in Osceola County.

It started on County Line Road in Tustin around 8:00 PM Wednesday.

The Tustin Fire Chief tells 9&10 News that the barn was 141 years old.

That made it burn even faster.

No one was inside at the time and fire crews believe the livestock made it out.

The barn was full of 300 bales of hay, giving it little chance to survive the fire.

The heavy snow made it hard for firefighters working to get things under control.

The road commission was called in to salt the area so crews could get closer to the fire.

The cause is still under investigation.
