UPDATE: TC Police Charge Two Women In Connection With NMC Assault

Continuing coverage on the stabbing at Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City.

Two women police say played a role in the stabbing have been formally charged.

Wednesday morning Ashley Day and Alyssa Rodriguez were charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery and armed robbery.

Police say Day set up a fake drug deal with Dwight Thompson so the three suspects could steal his drugs.

Police add that Rodriguez drove to and from the scene of the crime.

Traverse City Captain Mike Ayling has interviewed one suspect on February 13.

The Captain was able to get the identities of all the suspects and they are in custody. The location of the knife used in the attack as also been identified and police are searching for it. 

Police arrested three men Friday for stabbing Dwight Thompson on January 31st.

The 15-year-old suspect was charged as an adult for attempted murder and armed robbery.

The other two suspects, Tony Orozco and Jorgeantonio Alvarado were charged with the same crimes.

Police say the three knew Thompson was planning to sell drugs, likely heroin and crack.

So they set up a fake drug deal and jumped him.

Thompson is also in jail for trying to sell his drugs.
