Important Reminders When Preparing For Winter Storm

Posted: Updated:

This Isabella County Emergency Management Department wants to remind you to take precautions for the coming winter storm.

Heavy, wet snow will create dangerous and slippery road conditions.

If you have to travel, please use your headlights at all times.

Isabella Co. Emergency personnel have other tips for traveling safely: fill you gas tank, charge your cell phone, have a blanket or sleeping bag, have bottled water and a flash light with extra batteries. They remind you to pack an extra pair of dry clothes in your car, too.

If power goes out, check on your neighbors, especially the elderly and ill. Use safe heating sources. In case you need help finding a shelter, contact Listening Ear at 989-772-9218.

Do not hesitate to call 911 in an emergency.
