North American Snow Festival Begins With Chili Cook-Off

Posted: Updated:

The North American Snow Festival started Thursday night, and it's already setting records.

An all time high of 19 restaurants have signed up to take part in the chili cook-off at the Wex, which began at 6:00.

Most of the entrants are from the Cadillac area, but Manistee is represented, as is Harrieta.

You need a $5 NASF pin to get in the door, and that will get you into every festival event for the rest of the weekend

Chili cook-ff chairman Mike Paulin says, "we're looking for an exciting night of a lot of people coming in, sampling the chili, everybody gets to vote. They'll get a ballot as they come thru the door, and they can vote for their favorite chili. And at the end of the night, we'll name the champion chili for the next year."

Following the chili cook-off at the Wex at 7:30, the pageant to select the next Miss Cadillac NASF will begin.
