UPDATE: Italian Court Upholds Amanda Knox's Murder Conviction

Posted: Updated:

Developing news in the Amanda Knox trial. An Italian court upheld her murder conviction in the 2007 death of her British roommate.

Knox was sentenced to 28.5 years in prison, but she was thousands of miles from the
courtroom, here in the US.

Knox's murder case went back to trial late last year.

That's after she won an appeal throwing out her earlier conviction.

This is the third trial for Knox and her former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito for the murder of British exchange student Meredith Kercher in 2007.

They were convicted in 2009, and sentenced to more than 20 years in prison, but that conviction was overturned.

The next step will likely be a legal battle over an extradition.
