Mason Co. Plows Pulled Off Secondary Roads, Focus On Primary Roads

Posted: Updated:

The Mason County Road Commission says they are pulling plow trucks off all secondary roads.

The road commission wants the trucks to focus on primary roads and highways.

The goal is to get the primary roads squared away first because trucks are having trouble keeping them passable.

Some secondary roads were cleared on Monday and over the weekend, but blowing snow has come back in.

They are asking the public to only travel in case of emergency.

M-116 towards Ludington State Park is drifted down to one lane in most locations. The DNR is asking the public not to travel to the state park today.

MSP, Mason County Road Commission and the Chairman of the County Board of Commissioners will continue to monitor road conditions.
