Feedback at 5:00: Gov. Snyder's Plan To Help Detroit

Posted: Updated:

Governor Rick Snyder has a new plan to help the Motor City move out of bankruptcy and protect city pension plans and city-owned artwork.

The Governor says the $350 million state pledge is not a bailout.

The plan would commit the funds over the next 20 years.

Yesterday, Governor Snyder also announced a proposal to bring 50,000 new skilled immigrants to Detroit in the next five years to live and work in the city.

He is asking the Obama Administration to set aside thousands of work visas to foreigners with advanced degrees in areas like science, technology, engineering or math.

Governor Snyder calls immigration an economic driver.

What do you think of the Governor's plans to help bring the city of Detroit back from bankruptcy?
