Bay Harbor Hosts Ice Sculpting Competition

Posted: Updated:

Bay Harbor's Ice and Spice Festival brought thousands of people the village of Bay Harbor this weekend.

Organizers say the main attraction is the ice sculpting competition. Competitors stop in Northern Michigan as they go around the country creating beautiful ice sculptures.

The competitors say there are a lot of factors that come into sculpting like the weather, and the amount of sunlight. They say the cold weather today made it perfect for the ice sculpting.

Competitors also say it's great to see the looks on peoples faces when they watch the artists create all sorts of designs.

The competition is free lance and has no theme, but the competitors' sponsor picks out what they have to carve.
