Tip Up Town USA Expected to Bring in Large Crowds This Weekend

Snowmobiles and people are buzzing around Roscommon County for one of the biggest winter festivals of the year.

Thousands of people are beginning to make their way up North for the first of two jam-packed weekends of Tip Up Town USA.

The event means the town of Houghton Lake will nearly double in size, an exciting prospect for local businesses.

Tip Up Town started as a fishing tournament and has expanded over the years, but Lyman's on the Lake, a bait and tackle shop says they are excited ice fisherman are still loving the heart of the event.

9&10's Katie Boomgaard stopped by a few busy businesses to see what kind of crowds they are expecting.

    Breaking news tonight, 9&10 News learned convicted murderer Eric Knysz tried to hang himself in prison. We have confirmed Knysz is now on life support. Knysz was just sentenced last week to life in prison
    UPDATE: 9 & 10 News has just confirmed that convicted murderer Eric Knysz has been declared brain dead.

    Knysz was on life support after the suicide attempt that took place Monday afternoon.
