UPDATE: Wexford Co. Bus Crash Investigating Continues

Posted: Updated:

An update on a bus crash carrying more than 40 high school athletes.

A charter bus was struck by another driver northbound on US-131 just north of E. 34 Rd in Wexford County Tuesday night.

The Petoskey boys Freshman, JV and Varsity basketball teams were headed back home after a game.

No one on the bus was hurt.

The superintendent says the team's rivals, Cadillac, helped the boys get home safe.

Superintendent John Scholten says, "they sent a bus over and actually transported our kids back to Petoskey last night. It was a long night for our kids to get home but they got back safely and were grateful no one got hurt."

The Cadillac driver that struck the bus was taken to Munson Medical Center.

Police believe alcohol is a factor in this crash. They are still investigating.
