A man is in serious condition after a he rear-ended a Northern Michigan school bus.

The accident happened around 8 a.m. Tuesday morning on Boon Road near US 131 in Haring Township, just outside of Cadillac.

Thirteen students were on board when the accident happened. One student was treated for minor injuries and released.
State police say the driver of a truck rear-ended the school bus as it was pulling away from a stop.

Witnesses say it doesn't look like the driver of the truck ever tried to stop.

That driver had to be airlifted to Munson Medical Center for his injuries.

The students changed buses and continued on to school. The principal says the students were fine at school after the incident.

It's not clear what led to the accident, but once they determine a cause a ticket or charges could be issued.
