UPDATE: Webb Sentenced For Embezzling Thousands From Former Employer

Posted: Updated:

A Charlevoix County woman will serve one year behind bars for embezzling money from her former job.

Heather Webb pled guilty to a charge of embezzling between $50,00 and $100,000 from her former employer. She was originally charged with embezzlement greater than $100,000.

Deputies arrested Heather Marie Webb in November after she resigned for Nu-Core Incorporated in Charlevoix.

The owner of the company told police they found forged checks made out to Webb.

February 28, a judge sentenced her to one year in jail. Webb must also pay more than $141,000 to her former employer.
