Genesee Co. Highway Reopened After Crude Oil Tanker Accident

DAVISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- I-69 is now reopen after a major crash caused a tanker truck explosion.

The crash happened in Genesee County's Davison Township Thursday afternoon. 

A semi-truck carrying crude oil went over a guard rail, crashed and then exploded. 

Because of a harmful chemical found in crude oil, the crash prompted an evacuation for everyone within a two mile radius. 

You could see fire and smoke pouring from the semi and houses nearby could hear the explosion. 

The driver walked away unharmed.
