Former Substitute Teacher Accused Of Having Relationship With Young Student

Police have arrested a Northern Michigan teacher for having a romantic relationship with a teenage student.

The man was a substitute teacher at Manistee Public Schools in Manistee County.

Police say Corbin Swiastyn had an inappropriate relationship with a 14-year-old student.

 Manistee City Police have been investigating the accusations since May.

 They say the relationship was consensual and there was no sexual contact prior to the arrest.

 Swiastyn is being charged with accosting for immoral purposes, a four year felony charge.
