The 1460th Transportation Unit out of the Midland National Guard Armory is deploying tomorrow for a classified mission in Afghanistan.

People from all over the Great Lake state gathered for today's special ceremony.

150 men and women from the Army National Guard Transportation Unit will deploy tomorrow, including Chief Kevin McDevitt from Farwell. Chief McDevitt says, "I've been in 32 years now, I felt like I've been training for a marathon and this is my chance to partake in all the stuff we've learned."

They will be performing transportation missions in Afghanistan. The Dow High School gym was packed full of supporters.

Currently, more than 476 Michigan National Guard soldiers are deployed across the globe.

9&10's Katie Boomgaard captured today's special send off and has more details on the ceremony.
