Michigan Retail Store Closes After 80 Years in Business

Posted: Updated:

A Michigan store in business for 80 years is closing all 5 of its stores.

The location in Gaylord has been a staple for as long as locals can remember.

The Gaylord store currently has 10 employees who will have to find work once doors close in January. As for the other stores, around 50 people will have to find work.

Employees say they are sad to see the store go, but locals will miss it the most.

Some life long residents of Gaylord remember trips as children. Others remember trips gathering hunting gear, just around this time every year as tradition.

9&10's Alyssa Gambla and photojournalist Erin Malone visited the store to find out more.
