UPDATE: Coast Guard Find Body of Missing Hunter in Chippewa County

Posted: Updated:

UPDATE: The Coast Guard says the search for the missing hunter has ended. His body was found early Sunday morning, 3 miles away from his duck blind in Munuscong Lake in the lower St. Marys River.

A search and rescue group was sent out Saturday evening to search for 52-year-old Robert Andrzejewski. They say he was overdue from a hunting trip in Munuscong Lake in the lower St. Marys River.

Several local response agencies helped with the search effort using boats and shoreline search parties.

They say searchers found the missing hunter's duck blind and decoys but did not find him or his boat.

Coast Guard Air Station Detroit came in on Sunday to help with the search and found Andrzejewski's body and boat around 8:30 in the morning. He was found 3 miles away from his hunting blind in 3 inches of water right off shore.

The cause of death is under investigation.
