Great Storm of 1913: The Great Storm Gains Strength

Thursday, Kevin Essebaggers will show you what happened as the storm really gained steam, as captains tried and failed to find a safe place to go.

In the first two days of the Great Storm of 1913, 3 ships were lost on the Great Lakes, nearly 50 people died.

The captains of the ships that weathered the first part of the storm were now on the cusp of part two on Lake Huron.

Could they be so lucky again?

In the last part of our series Friday on 9&10 News at 6:00, the people of Goderich describe the chilling scene along the water the night of November 9th, 1913.

And we'll see how 100 years later, that lakeshore town refuses to let the memory of the storm and its victims fade.
