Demands for a Safer Intersection Follow Deadly Crash

Posted: Updated:

This was the first deadly car crash at the corner in the last 10 years, but people living nearby say it is rare to go a week without some sort of incident.

Is the intersection too dangerous?

That's what many are asking about the corner of M-115 and 13th Street in Selma Township near Cadillac.

But people familiar with the corner say it doesn't seem to have changed much.

Two of the directions are blocked by wide turns creating a surprise stop for much of the traffic.

Accidents are spread almost evenly between those going in any direction and those making turns.

Signs have been put up with flashing lights to warn drivers but M-DOT says they need help in creating a safer corner.

9&10 News' Eric Lloyd spoke with people that work and live near the corner and has more details.
