Sarah Knysz Pleads Guilty

A guilty plea was entered by the wife of the man accused of killing Trooper Paul Butterfield. Now questions swirl on how this will impact her husband's case.

Sarah Knysz pleaded guilty as charged on Tuesday. Those charges include accessory after the fact to the murder of trooper Butterfield and unlawful driving away of a vehicle.

Sarah was in the car with her husband Eric when she says he shot and killed the trooper in Mason County back in September. The two were later caught in Dublin in Manistee County.

During the hearing on Tuesday, she agreed to testify against her husband. As part of her plea, her charge of unlawful driving away of a vehicle in Manistee County was dismissed. She also the described how Eric shot the trooper just seconds after he approached the car.

Those details will come in handy for the prosecution when her husband goes to trial in February.
