Honor Flight To Put Hub In Mescosta for Northern Michigan Veterans

Posted: Updated:

Honor Flight has been taking veterans to the Washington DC War Memorials for more than eight years.

Honor Flight is a charity organization that flies vets to DC to see the memorials of whichever war or wars they served in.

Now an Honor Flight hub is starting in Mecosta to serve Northern Michigan veterans. There is a hub already in Kalamazoo, serving that portion of the state including Grand Rapids, and one in the Upper Peninsula in Gladstone.

Up until now, there has never been a hub between the Lansing area and Mackinaw City, but a group of volunteers has started one based in Mecosta that will serve veterans.

Organizers say it's an experience that many vets say is the best day of their lives.

A lot of volunteers are needed to make this project happen.
