Events Around Northern Michigan: Halloween Celebrations

Posted: Updated:

A lot of Northern Michigan communities are celebrating Halloween this weekend, so today we wanted to show you a couple of events going on to make sure you don't miss out on any of the Halloween fun!

One of those communities is Sault Ste. Marie, celebrating Friday, October 25th with the Sault Ste. Marie Fright Fest. Families can meet downtown on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. for trick-or-treating, hayrides, a haunted house, and even a kids carnival. Starting at 7:30 the streets of Sault Ste. Marie will be filled with zombies for the 2nd Annual Zombie Walk for Autism. Hayrides are free, and the haunted house costs $2 per person.

If you're not planning on heading so far north, you can stop by Traverse City for their 5th Annual Zombie Run. Runners take off Saturday, October 26th at 9:00 a.m. from Right Brain Brewery for their 5K trek through Traverse City. And don't worry -- there's still time to register!Registration is $35 for adults, $25 for teens, and $20 kids. Everyone is encouraged to get into the Halloween spirit by getting creative and dressing up for the event. All the money made from the race will go towards TART trails.
