Mackinac Bridge Could Be Part Of Renamed Stretch Of I-75

LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- A stretch of the Mighty Mack could be a part of a stretch of I-75 used to honor veterans from our state.

A new bill in Lansing is proposing that 7 miles of the highway be renamed as the "Michigan Military Veterans Highway."

The renamed portion would include I-75 between Mackinaw City and St. Ignace.

The route passes the Veterans Affairs Cheboygan County Community Based Outpatient Clinic.

Republican State Representatives Greg MacMaster and Frank Foster introduced the legislation earlier this month.

The bill is now being looked at by the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.
