First Snow Falls Around Northern Michigan, Road Conditions Slick

Posted: Updated:

Leaves may still be on the trees, but Tuesday parts of Northern Michigan woke up to fresh snow.

9&10 News viewers have been sending us their Webshooters all day of what they saw on their doorsteps and in their yards Tuesday morning.

Some areas saw just a light dusting, but others got a bit more.

Onaway in Presque Isle County saw up to four inches of snow, more than the road commission thought they would get this early.

Police say six accidents happened in just a matter of hours caused by the snow.

The sheriff says even if it's only a few inches, drivers still need to be cautious when they hit the roads.

The road commission plowed and salted the streets early in the morning.

They say Tuesday's snowfall is just a prelude to a long winter.
